Protected Form: Help with Generic Form for Spousal Sponsorship

Hello Friends,

I am applying spousal sponsorship for my wife from India. I am new to the forum and looking for some help on the forms.

In Generic Application form: In the language Details forms: Language Details.

Q3. Have you taken the English/French designated Test?

I have read in the forum that it is not needed for Spousal Sponsorship. My wife has marked "Yes" because she had given the IELTS for her UK Education 5 years ago. We have the copy of the test also but since I have already received all the forms with her signatures over it.

Is that a problem if I attach the old copy of the IELTS and write a sticky that it is not required but I am attaching?

Can I just change the answer by hand and checkmark "No" but there will be overwriting on the form.

What do you suggest seniors?

I am not a senior yet lol...but here is what I would do instead of changing your answer by hand ..just leave it as it is and send in the copy of the IELTS test. It wont hurt anything. If you attempt to change something by hand on a protected form it may cause an error later on in the process.

We actually sent in my wifes transcripts and copy of her diplomas not needed but we sent them in anyway.

I would not alter the form that your wife has already signed. If you make any alterations your wife should initial them. Then you would have to send the form back to her and so on.

Send in the IELTS, it will do no harm.

Few more questions.

1) Do we need to right anything at the back of the 6 pictures of my wife?

2) Our marriage certificate has a stamp in "Hindi" other than that everything is in English. Should I get the translation done for that stamp?

3) Should I place "Notary attested copies of her School Certificate, Election Card, Driving License and Passport copies or simple photocopies are fine?

2, No, That's an official stamp you do not need to get it translated
3. Yes you need to notarize the copies

1. Check your country specific instructions.. All normally require signature and some require the date of birth as well.
2. Stamps are an official government form of acceptance of a document. No translation needed

1. You need to write the persons in the pic and also attach the address, your relationship with them and their contact number on a separate sheet(this is only if you have other people in pics like fiends relatives etc)
2. Any official national document does not need to notarize, Yes if the document is translated or photocopy is used then you need to get them notarized.
Better read the country specific guideline, good luck

I think the op is talking about the immigration photos required... As stated above check your country specific instructions. At minimum have the 6 pictures signed and date of birth on the back of each one.
