My husband I are interested in migrating to Canada. We are both US citizens with work history and higher education degrees. Where should we start if we are seriously considering the move? Is it best to get a lawyer? We also have 2 kiddos under the age of 10. Anyone US peeps here can share how they started from scratch and was successful? Thx

You don't need a lawyer. You can research your immigration options on your own.

There is no immigration stream specifically for Americans. Everyone applies through the same programs.

I would recommend that you start by researching the Express Entry program. This is a points based program where those with the most points are selected out of an applicant pool and invited to apply for PR. You need to have 470+ points at this time to be selected. Suggest you start by calculating your points to determine where you stand. Details below
