Proofs of relationship

Hi everyone. As it says on the checklist, now CIC only requests maximum of 20 photos and maximum of 10 pages of communication. Has anyone actually sent a little more than that and if CIC were cool with that. My husband and me collected so many pictures, emails, chats etc and sure we weren't going to send it all but at the same time it's so hard to choose the right pages of communication because everything seems important to us and it's hard to decide which ones should be left out. The same about the pictures. We are not going to send hundred of them or anything like that, but say if we did send like 22 pictures and 12-15 pages of communication....would it be considered to much because we don't want to annoy CIC either and make them think that we don't follow the instructions but at the same time we really want to show as much proofs as we can without making them annoyed....Any suggestions? Thanks!

we sent exactly as much as they asked for. We also have many pictures, but we choose those with families/friends, wedding, different trips...So all of these 20 pics show our story. And exactly 10 pages of communication. We included screenshots of conversations + duration of calls. Also we included separately few birthday cards we exchanged, some receipts from our travels, entertainments with explanation what was that. So its up to you as of how much to include....but my personal opinion: there is a reason as why they made these limits. Important - quality, not quantity

I doubt CIC will reject your application for a few too many, but you really should get it down to the maximums they specify.

For pictures, choose a range that covers from the start of your relationship through the years to recent times. Choose ones with both of you together and with your faces easily identified, ideally with friends or relatives that you can name and / or backgrounds that are clearly identifiable (obvious and easily identified landmarks if it is holiday photo etc.). You can always mention that you have loads more and had a hard time whittling it down and you would be happy to send loads more on request if that would help (pretty much guarantees they won't then ask!!).

Be ruthless and put yourself in the place of the CIC Officer who doesn't know you from Adam. If you were him / her, what would convince you this was a genuine relationship?

Agreed.

If they want more they will ask for them. It’s difficult to streamline a process when people keep ignoring instructions and including superfluous information for the VO to sort through.

Thank you very much for your replies! I think it really would be better to narrow down our pictures and pages of communication exactly to the limit that they mentioned on the check list. There's no point in risking it even though the temptation is high to send just a little bit more but well...we can just mention on the envelop where we put our pictures that we additionally have more and would be happy to send them by their request. But we were also going to send a few pages of screenshots from Facebook showing that our relationship is recognized by our relatives where they congratulated us on our wedding and also posted some Christmas/birthday cards etc. So those Facebook pages will count separately if I understood correct and would go under the section "a proof that relationship is recognized by family" so they wouldn't have to count into those 10 pages of communication, right? Thank you.
