Hi all,

I have been told by some that we need to show the offer letter given by the company as well as all appraisal letters as proof of work experience. However, the Canada government website mentions the reference letter with the salary, job duties, and other information as the only requirement.

I am confused, because for old companies i have not really preserved my appointment letter and appraisal letters. Will the reference letter be adequate?

Do give me your thoughts?

We just sent reference letter as per CIC requirements.

If your company is ready to provide a reference letter with all the details as per CIC website, then this letter alone will suffice.
In my case, my previous employers gave reference in a standard format [few details such as salary, designation, dates were not mentioned]

So I had attached pay stubs, offer letter and experience letter along with reference letter. It was accepted by CIC. I would suggest you to add pay stubs and any other company provided letters in case you have it.

Hi everyone. please help.

I have an issue with job letter from a previous employer. it does not contain job description. the company will not give another letter in the format requested by CIC.

I managed to get the job description from a current manager at the company, it's on company letterhead but he just signed it with no stamp an no contact details.

do you think that will do it if I clearly explain the situation in LOE?
