Proof of sufficient funds when landing?

How strict is this rule and what are they expecting in terms of numbers? I think I wont have much money when I land, but my wife is in Canada and has a well paid steady job there, is that something of a guarantee?

We didnt need to show anytging about funds ever through the process or landing

You don't need to show proof of funds when landing as a PR/Family Class. This process was assessed when the sponsor was approved. When I landed I had to show CoPR, Passport and goods accompanying and following. My spouse was with me at the time and we asked if proof of funds was required (it was on our mobile banking app) and he said "no, not for this type of visa."
