Proof of marriage for tourist visa

I am applying tourist visa for my parents. They dont have marriage certificate which is one of the mandatory document. Whats the alternate document we can provide that will suit the purpose? and also regarding purpose of travel, we haven't booked tickets neither planned travel. So what supporting document we can provide.
Please suggest. I have gone thru visitor section thread but could not find answer.

It is not a mandatory document. Alternatively, submit a copy of your birth certificate.
