Hello, I've been married to my husband for a bit over a year and a half.
While we initially intended to move to the US, I think that in the end, we will end up in Canada.
For the past 3 years, I've been traveling back and forth with the ability to work online while I'm up here.
I hold a full time job making 35k a year and my husband has only been able to find work at a steady job for almost 2 years now only working 1 day a week for 4 hours. It's enough to pay the hydro bill, but not enough to support me (obviously) should we file papers.
I currently pay for all of the living expenses for him and myself when I am up here.
Is there any way to get a spousal visa in Canada with proving that I can support MYSELF living up here?
We've been looking for SO long to find a suitable job for him full time but our efforts have been fruitless.
Quite frankly, I'm just tired of the driving back and forth.
I'd still have to visit work every so often, but I'd really like to be able to stay here longer than a month or 2.
My eventual goal is to drop the job I'm currently in and get something similar in Canada after a visa has gone through... otherwise I would continue to work at my current job.
