Proof of funds

I have a doubt regarding proof of funds for my spouse sowp. I'm getting gift deed from my family as most of my investments are locked in and long term and I showed the rest to my study permit. I have two options .kindly suggest which would be better/required as per cic.

1. My father who is retired, is ready to support for my spouse sowp. He doesn't have recent ITR. He can give bank statement for 6months. Is this acceptable?

2. My brother who is well settled is willing to support my wife sowp application and give gift deed, ITR etc.

Couldn't find any information on what is ths actual requirement. I would like to avoid unnecessary additional paperwork in my application

No, as long as the gift deed as in accordance with law and the donor and donee are parent-child or siblings.

@legalfalcon I read the link u posted. It shows mutual funds cant be used as proof of funds. I showed them in my SDS application(I need not have to show other assets. But did after almost everyone in social media groups says so apparently). Can I liquidate them and show for my spouse now? Does it add any weightage

The link I shared is for PR-EE applications.

For SDS you can show any assets, including the mutual funds. You do not have to liquidate them. For a study visa application you only have to show that you have enough funds or source of funds to meet the first year of your studies.

No No. I am asking the whole question for spouse permit for my wife.She doesnt have any income. homemaker. I am getting gift deed for her either from her fatherinlaw or brotherinlaw(my family). Am asking can I also show the mutual funds I already showed in my SDS application? @legalfalcon.

I couldnt find source of funds information for sowp as clearly as PR . That is why so much of confusion. I trust only ur expertise @legalfalcon . Every agent says lots of extra documents. The other day I saw someone in group with 50 pages of document list for sowp

hello all, i have a query. Proof of funds needed to updated in express entry profile by no later than 15, July 2021. I updated my proof of funds section on 16, July 2021. Does this affect my Express entry profile? as per my profile i am still a candidate, please advise! Thank you.

Information about proof of funds (POF) available at CIC has only focused on PR applications.

I.e While express entry and skilled immigration applications with job offers are exempted from providing POF, visa officers still ask POF for work permit TRV applicants.

Salary offered to me is clearly mentioned in my job offer letter. However, recently I received instructions from visa office Abu Dhabi to submit proof of funds. Since there is no information related to work permits, I have provided funds according the amount for PR applications
