Yes you can but nobody is asking for proof of funds these days. They never asked me. I carried 3 thousand CAD in cash and a bank certificate showing my balance. that was enough.

Should we be having that required amount by the time we are about to land in Canada or is it necessary to declare the funds pre AOR?
Recently, I have deposited some cash I have received by hand from my apartment owner as I have finished my tenancy contract before time. Also, some refundable security deposits are on the way. In this month I may sell my car so I will deposit that amount as well. In my case as of now I posses more than half the amount required for 3 persons.
Since most of these are received cash by hand, how should I inform the Visa officer about it assuring him that I will be able to have it completely by the time I plan to land?
Will these transactions harm my case?
By the way, if the POF is an optional requirement then why should we be concerned for it so much.

I actually stated that I will be carrying $20k by the time I arrive in Canada in the online application. So if ITA comes and even by the deadline I do not have that amount in my account,so what should I do then? Is there any way to prove any borrowed amount for the sake of POF in my account legally.
EE Pool draw is expected soon and I am hopeful that I will get an ITA as per the current pool results trend. I dont know if I should be happy or sad. Or should I withdraw my application from the draw :(
