You have to show funds all the members of your family. If there is you and your wife, then it is for 2 members i.e $15,531. It doesn't matter whether he/she is accompanying or not.

Is it logical?? proof of funds means person can servive for few months if he doesn't get a job, what will be the use of funds for full family if they are not accompanying

You cannot apply for just for yourself as you have a family and she will be considered in your application.

Rules are rules. Talk to CIC if you think its wrong. If they will amend, we will be more than happy.

Okk, scenario is in my wife's account 65% funds are there as Fixed Deposit and my father and me have joint account with remaining 35%+ some extra money, so can I show these funds??

The accounts should be on your name or your spouse name. Any joint accounts with other family members will not be acceptable.

Hi,

I have a question about the proof of funds.

I have a nice proof of funds statement from Scotiabank. It shows that more than the required amount is available in my account.

Somewhere here I read that you do not have to get proof of funds from other accounts, if one shows already a sufficient balance.
In my tax statement of 2016 and 2017, I have filed the T1135, which means that I have funds of more than 100,000 CAD in a foreign country.
Should I try to get statements for the foreign accounts, in case that there is a crosscheck or will it not matter? They ask for a statement of all accounts.

Thank you in advance.
