Hi guys,

As per CIC guidelines, one must show 6 months old funds to prove your proof of funds. If someone doesn't have 6 months old funds, then can he/she take gift deed from his/her parents and blood relations to prove POF?

1. I am a single candidate and I need to show CAD$12,475 and I am showing CAD$ 15,000, so in this case, can I take a single gift deed from 3 members of my family such as my parents and brother, who all are gifting me this mentioned amount to make a single deed of $14,000 rather than make 3 different deeds. Or only one deed is acceptable from a single person.

2. Moreover, I am also including 2 Fixed Deposits (FD) from 2 different banks along with a life insurance policy (LIC), so what documents do I need to attach along with my application to show them POF. I will get the proofs on all the banks' letterheads regarding these funds, but do I still need to have these letterheads notarized for the funds or banks' letterheads will suffice the POF which I can directly attach in my application?

I request you to please clarify these 2 queries on priority.

Thanks

Correct, you can get a gift deed to meet the minimum required funds. You can take several but getting them all executed is going to be a pain.

just execute one gift deed - ask your fam members to transfer the money to one of the members and let that person transfer the money to you via cheque.

I know this is unrelated, but is getting a job in Canada as tough as the Internet makes it sound? Too many posts discouraging applicants. Not sure why.

I think most posts that say that come from applicants who try to get a job while living abroad. In my experience it did not take me more than 2 weeks to start getting interviews and to finally land a position.

thanks. I get the feeling it's the negative 2% sharing their stories, while most of the +ve stories are getting drowned out. The ppl I know personally have, for the most part, landed a job within the first 60-90 days.
