Hi,

I have applied under FSW and in the process of collecting documents. I have a query regarding proof of funds. We have applied for PR for two people, me and my wife. Since my wife is now pregnant, I have been asked by my consultant to show proof of funds for 3 people (third one being the unborn child yet). the amount for three people is around 16000 canadian dollars. Please comment. Is my consultant right, since CHC will only come to know about the pregnancy only on medicals.

It is no problem showing the amt now itself since later on u will have to fill up the forms again .

Your consultant is probably right, because later on you will have to include your child in your application and you have to show proof that you have funds for 3 people. If you show proof for just the 2 of you now and later on when you update your file and show funds for three, they will ask you questions like how did you come up with the amount, so you will show proof again where you got the money.

Satwant,
It will be convenient for you. You would need to submit Proof of Funds only once. Otherwise you would have to do it after the birth of your child too. (It is just one? Not twins? :) )
An of course, most probably, you would have to submit once more right before your visa will be issued.

POF for a family of three is more like CAD 16,970... or close to 17,000.

For three people in Indian currency it comes out to be around Rs. 7.65 Lacs according to the present market rate of rs 45 per Canadian dollar. and I have 7.68. I know that is just marginal, I have no more money to show. While assessing this does the visa office consider the market rate at the time of assessment or at the time of application? Please comment...

Also, I hope they do not consider an infant to be born at a later date as a full-fledged 3rd person.

Hi I have got a quick question: I have already shown proof of funds when submitting the docs and I have not been asked to show any further docs relating to proof of funds. I have done my medicals and now I am waiting for hopefully PPR. I was wondering if I could be asked to show proof of funds again????

I want to migrate to Canda. But always heard about this proof of funds. Could someone explain to me what it is. In my family is me my wife, and two daughters. How much will I have to give proof of funds, and to whom?

yes when you land in canada.

Hi Pilo. POF means you have the minimum required funds (your OWN money, not borrowed) which you will bring to Canada to live on until you start earning an income. You need 3-6 months bank statements as proof and may be required to show where that money came from to prove it is not a loan. Below you will find the amounts required for the number of people immigrating. Family of 4 = $20,599 CDN
Number of Family Members Funds Required
(in Canadian dollars)
1 $11,086
2 $13,801
3 $16,967
4 $20,599
5 $23,364
6 $26,350
7 or more $29,337
Hope this helps.
