Hi guys,

I am already in the Express Entry pool with a CRS score of 379 and my NOC code is 4163. My question is that if I am able to get a work permit in an other occupation which doesn't fall under NOC 0,A or B. Should I still produce the proof of funds whilst applying for express entry.

Thanks in advance.

Yes , you need to provide POF for the profile which got ITA.

Thank you for your reply. I read in CIC website which says,

You do not have to show that you have these funds if:

you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada.

It is a really good question. Would it be an LMIA exempt job as well?

No, its not a LMIA exempt job

As per the facts :

A software engineer 's EE profile has to be supported by POF , if his current job is mechanic/truck driver.

It seems to me maybe not, if he gets an LMIA-supported truck driving job.

Its a debatable topic, remember ITA was issued for NOC 0-B in EE and not for truck driving job.
Its all about how did he/she became eligible for EE, back to basics?

This is why I Think it is such a great question ! I haven't read anywhere that the LMIA has to be for a skilled job, only that it has an LMIA and the applicant is legally allowed to work in Canada. It would be great to find something specifically about this in the OP manuals.

It just says authorized to work in Canada, and not mentioned that the work should be a skilled (NOC 0,A or B) occupation and the LMIA issued should be a skilled (NOC 0,A or B) occupation.

Any comments will be highly appreciated.

I'm not sure what r u talking about, if you are talking about EE it has to be (NOC 0,A or B) in order to apply for PR through EE, but if are talking about getting work permit by LMIA , yes there is no O, A,B NOC required.

Ok had to edit my post after reading this official link. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/offer.asp
It does seem clear here that the LMIA has to be for an OAB position to be considered a valid job offer under the EE stream. I guess there is nothing stopping you from getting a NOC C job offer, but it wouldn't give you the additional 600 points.
So to return to your original question about proof of funds: I am leaning toward saying you would need to show POF unless it was a NOC OAB LMIA. Phew. Talk about an about face!

Exactly , that's I am talking.
