Hello dear friends,

According to CIC bank statement should be in CAD. My bank gives me this statement in either American dollars or euros. Is there anybody who has experienced the same thing? Will there be any problems if it is NOT in Canadian dollars?

Thank you very much.

This question has been asked and answered a lot of times in this forum. Everyone outside Canada has their bank accounts in foreign currencies. CIC can make their own calculations with help of current exchange rates available online. No problems here at all.

Thanks. I was hesitant because of what CIC says in the checklist...

Well, in Russia, for instance, we can open accounts in three currencies only: RUR, USD and EUR. There's no way I can make a CAD account. As far as I remember, in the past all applicants opened accounts in Canadian banks (e.g. TD, Nova Scotia, etc.) and transferred settlement funds there but it is not mandatory now.
