I applied for FSW PhD track last year. I just received an email from immigration asking for extra documents:

> Funds, proof: Please provide evidence of funds which are completely available, transferrable and unencumbered by debt or other obligations.
Evidence of account activity for the past six months must also be submitted. This must be received at this office by: 2014/06/06.

1. Part of my funds correspond to a land that my in-laws sold and divided among their children. This came as a transfer to my Brazilian account just this month, so I assume this would look a bit suspicious. Should I provide any extra explanation or something in that regard? Would a letter from me explaining the situation plus the selling document be enough?

2. I have a formal offer of temporary employment for the summer. Should I include this offer letter as part of my documentation? The salary I'll get for that employment is clearly stated in the offer.

3. Will my current employment count towards something in this documentation?

The documents and a note explaining should be enough to explain that large deposit.

This will not work as you need to show liquid funds. A salary is not viewed that way.

3. Will my current employment count towards something in this documentation?

Unless you have savings, your employment will not help.

does this help??
You do not have to show that you have these funds if:

you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada.

Arranged Employment:
A valid job offer has to be for permanent, full-time and not seasonal work in a NOC 0, A or B occupation.

Depending on your case, there are different factors that make a job offer valid.

1. You currently work in Canada on a temporary work permit, and:

your work permit is valid both when you apply and when the visa is issued (or you are authorized to work in Canada when your visa is issued), and
CIC issued your work permit based on a positive labour market opinion (LMO) from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC), and
you are working for an employer named on your work permit who has made a permanent job offer based on you being accepted as a federal skilled worker.
2. You currently work in Canada in a job that is exempt from the LMO requirement under:

an international agreement (such as, the North America Free Trade Agreement) or
a federal-provincial agreement.
Also:

your work permit must be valid both when you apply and when the visa is issued (or you are authorized to work in Canada when your visa is issued), and
your current employer has made a permanent job offer based on you being accepted as a skilled worker.
3. You currently:

do not have a work permit, or
do not plan to work in Canada before you get a permanent resident visa.
OR

are working in Canada and a different employer has offered to give you a permanent full-time job,
OR

are working in Canada in a job that is exempt from a Labour Market Opinion, but not under an international or federal-provincial agreement, and an employer has made you a permanent job offer based on you being accepted as a skilled worker,
AND

The employer has a positive Labour Market Opinion from HRSDC.

The offer is for temporary work, part-time, and seasonal. It doesn't apply to this case. Thanks for replying, though (both of you).
