Hello,

Once I get my ITA (Invitation To Apply) is it possible to show my father's bank account instead of mine, and attach a letter of consent saying that my father will sponsor me?

Is it necessary that the bank account be in my own name? Because I read somewhere that they request a bank statement of six months.

(Read page 8: http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/pr...oipp/documents/document/oi_en_hcps_010517.pdf)

I am expecting to get my ITA very soon, if I am to open a new account by my name and transfer the money from my father's account, I would only be able to issue a statement of 4 months let's say, but not 6.

Any ideas?

In short, no you cannot. The money must belong to you and cannot be borrowed.

Your father can gift you the money though, do your research on "gift deeds"

By the way, do I have to provide a proof of funds during the 90 days following my ITA? Or is it during the first landing? Or is it once I apply to the PR?

You should show the minimum required funds at the time you apply for PR and again when you land. And like delpiero said it must be under your name.

Are you applying under the Canadian Experience Class? If that's the case then you will not be required to show proof of funds.

You said "at the time you apply for PR." This is during the 90 days after I get my invitation. Am I correct? (I am just very new to the process.)
