We are a family of 4(Mom,Dad,sibling and me). I am the only one planning to move to Canada. How much fund should I show as POF ? I am confused with CIC statement. Does family mean your parents(who are not migrating) or wife and kids ? I am not married by the way. :P

For a single applicant, you will need to showcase proof of having at least $ 12164 in your name - you might be asked to prove this when you 'land'. You are free to bring any amount of money into Canada when you move there - you'll just have to declare anything above $ 10000.

Thanks Asivad Anac. So it means the POF numbers in CIC only relates to number of people landing with you or number of applicants.

Number of applicants. If you're unmarried and don't have a common-law partner, just You.
