Hi all !
I have a doubt regarding proof of funds for students in India who are applying for a study permit.
If one goes through the CIC website, there is an application package wherein there lies a document (IMM 5957). It mentions the following reg. proof of funds: (copy-pasted)
PREFERRED
OPTION for proof of funds
: evidence of purchase of a special Guaranteed
Investment Certificate (GIC) from a participating Canadian financial institution, in the amount of
$10,000 CAD to cover living expenses for your first year in Canada and evidence of payment for your tuition.
- does any body have an experience with this method? It seems a little contradictory to me. How can one risk paying tuition fees even before one's Visa is approved? How to show the tuition fee confirmation in that case?
I could get something regarding the GIC from ICICI Canada Bank website but I am not too sure of this.
Can someone please guide me?
What is the other easier and safer way to show my proof of funds? A way that other applicants have been successful with.
any advice is appreciated.
