Hi,

I've recently received a job offer from my current employer to relocate to Canada. They are also providing for me and my family with a relocation package and have assigned two companies that will prepare my submission for a PR. They've been asking all kinds of data about me and my dependents which I have been providing. However, it appears that they are asking me for extra information about my child's condition. He had heart surgery 5 years ago (he is 6 now) and since he has not experienced any complications that puts his health at risk. He is just another healthy child with the exception of occasional flues. We received a certification from his pediatrician stating the same thing and we are in the process of gather his medical history which will report the same.

After all of this, I'm being asked to provide proof of funds demonstrating that I would be able to support any social services my son may require in Canada. The problem is and as much as I hate to write this, I have none. All I own is my car which I'm sure I can only get around $2000 and all of my furniture, tv, personal items etc. Due to some personally issues involving my family, I have not been able to save anything and pretty much living pay check to pay check.

I have estimated a value of around $8000 for everything I own right now, but I can't sell anything because without the PR we can't move.

Would it be better to apply for a different type of visa, say a temporary one? Now keep in mind I already have a job offered, my company is handling everything , I will also get health insurance from my company. Do I still have a chance? I have not discussed this with my employer as I don't want to lose any chances that I might have.

Any thoughts?

ashton31, I really sympathise with you, no matter the situation one faces in life, there must always be away out. The only situation is for you to borrow the money and use it as proof of fund since you are only required to show statement of account. Please don't miss this opportunity and moving to canada is the best thing you can do for your child. Notthing good comes so easy but with God all things are possible. Good luck

Gabrilla, I appreciate your kind words. I'm worried that trying to cheat the system may actually backfire. So I think all I'm going to do is be honest about it and hopefully everything works out for the better.

Thanks again.

Well I don,t see it as cheating the system because by the time you are given the visa, you are definately going to show the proof of fund at the point of entry, which means that you must have sold some of your assets at that time, but now that you only need to show the statement of account, I will not advice you to sell any of your assets. Except you have any other alternatives, that will be perfect.
