Proof of funds at landing

Hiya all,

I'm landing in Jan 2011 and was wondering if I need to show proof of funds since my wife is canadian?
She is not travelling with me when I land though....

Hey nj123,

As I understand it, financial status is not considered under Family Class. They cannot deny you or your spouse, based on how much debt you have or don't have. I do believe, however, bankruptcy makes the sponsor ineligible, as does depending on welfare or other public contributions.

I wouldn't worry about it.

When I landed the officer didn't ask me anything about funds

Nope, I read over the papers given to me when my passport was returned with visa and they mention for spouses it does not matter. I too am landing in January 2011 nj123, best of luck to you!
