Dear...if the money is in your account than u do not need to prove that it is yours and do not belong to others. Issue is time. If u deposit it now and submit statement with recent deposits, becomes suspicious that arrangement is made through some sources to prove your ability otherwise u do not actually have liquidity.

No matter how u arrange, need to ensure that reasonable time has passed after deposit...say 6 months. Three months sometime works but risky

gud luk

Hello Gacajais,

There shouldn't be any be any problem.I don't think you have to keep the money in your account for the 3-6months as some people claim.
By the Grace of God we submitted a bank statement with balance of less than 2weeks as at the time of submitting our application and VO didn't
request for another till we finally receive our visa. We're a family of 4.

I hope this help.
God bless you

how long did you have your money in the account the second time the visa office asked for update

Same with me,

I put the money into my account and got the certificate from the bank the next week and submitted these certificates the week after that. But I did not withdraw the amount. I brought it with me to Canada from my landing.

Dear all in the forum,

I have an issue that i have invested money in a business and i can't keep my money in the bank till the decision of my immigration case. i noticed that in most cases it took almost a year. Can i put my money in the bank to get a letter from bank and submit my case, then within a month time i withdraw.
And put the money back when it is required by the CIO, somewhere towards the final stages.

I don't know that whether they veryify the bank statement during the processing time or not.

Further, one another question, if i submit a bank letter showing the closing balance is enough or i have to present a bank statement showing transactions for the last 6 or 3 months. I can show the first one.

Any body kindly let me know about the whole process and how i can adjust my self as i have to do business with my money and can't put my money in the bank for that long time.
Help help help

Thank you in anticipation.

put the money in your bank and get a letter fromt the bank stating that you have enough money in ur account. Dont worry about how long you kept the money in ur account. I showed them the one week old FD receipt and letter and they accept it. Important thing is money is in ur account..

my consulting says i should buy a fixed time deposit but i am scared because this is proof of fund update

you can start a fixed term deposite and that should be fine.. What actually you meant by proof of fund update... Have you already applied or about to apply...

Just look at the issue as a VO would. Large sum of money appears in an account - where did it come from? If you are selling a car, house, etc. you should have a receipt showing the amount which would correspond with the deposit, proving it was your money.
Someone else had a question, If you have money in the account and take it out to invest in a business then put it back in the account.....? Keep all your records showing that money was yours for the months before removing it. Show sale of share in business and corresponding deposit back into account.
For purchase of a fixed deposit. Show where the money came from to purchase the FD with some months of statements before purchase to show money has always been yours.
The thing is that money HAS TO BE YOURS. They want to see a money trail, which means the ebb and flow of your account, not just one day snap shot of the exact funds required. If you have made ins and outs, like the business investment, make sure you include a cover letter of explanation.

The money does not have had to been in the account for any specific amount of time prior to applying.

The visa offices usually like to see at least 6 months statements because they want to be sure that the money belongs to the applicant and is not borrowed.

In the case of the OP I do not see a problem. Large deposits will need to be explained but if he is selling his car, simply provide a copy of the receipt to show he has sold an asset which accounts for the funds.

You need to start a fixed deposite and get a letter from the bank. Bank letter should only states about your current balance. As far as they donbt mention about the start date of the Fixed deposite it should be fine... Hope this help
