Proof of Employment - Site Visit(Physical Verification)

I resigned from a small establishment a year ago. The establishment has a website, pops up on google search and I left on good terms with my employer who also happens to be my immediate supervisor. However, I did not leave on good terms with most of my co-workers, most of whom still work there. I'm worried that in case of a site visit by CIC officials or 3rd party investigators, my former co-workers might screw me over. In case of site visits, do CIC/3rd party officials talk to co-workers or do they just talk to the person mentioned in the employment letter?

In my limited knowledge, they don't do physical visits ever. Especially if employer information is verifiable through Internet.
