hello everyone,

My wife included me and our children in her application when she made her asylum claim in Canada in OCT 2009. Well she received her PR in Nov 2011 and we got the forms from local visa office in my country on 20th December 2011. The processing time stated on the covering letter for other members of family class is 40 months but my wife says that CIC told her that your family will be with you by August 2012. It is also stated on the covering letter that your application will be processed concurrently with your Head of Family in Canada. Now my question is how long will it take? Concurrent processing cases are required to be processed quickly for rapid unification of immediate family members but 40 months is no were being a quick processing time. I'm already suffering from depression. My age is 72 years already. I might just die while being stuck in this immigration limbo.

The country you are in will affect processing times as will all the checks that need to be done.

Unfortunately no one can say positively how long your specific case is likely to take.

It is surprising your wife has been told such a specific timeline.

Your case may be quick or slow and as difficult to hear that may be it is regretably the process for all.

You may need to draw on patience a lot over the coming months as so many others here do.

I don't think it will take that too long.
