Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I am from England and have been in Canada for 1.5 years on a student visa, living with my Canadian (born and raised) husband. We are about to submit applications for PR but have a few remaining issues we are unsure of.

1. Although I am living inside Canada, we have been advised by multiple people on this forum to apply through the OUTLAND application route. Why? Is this possible? I am just having some doubts since the CIC website specifically states that if I am currently living inside Canada I should not apply through inland application. I personally would prefer the outland route since processing times seem significantly shorter. I guess I need convincing still. Despite living inside Canada, can/should I still apply for the Outland route?

2. The current processing times state 17 months for outland, and 25ish months for inland. I have heard stories (from people here and from people we've met) that it only took them 4-6 months to be accepted (recent and old applications). Our situation is legit and we have AMPLE proof in tickets/photographs etc. of our relationship/marriage and time together. Given we complete the forms correctly (and I'm confident we have), from your own experiences should our application be considerately speedy? It's always hard to tell, but to hear from others would help.

Many thanks to those who reply.

I live in the US and mailed my Outland application in October. Received decision made yesterday.
You can apply Outland even if you are in Canada.
It is much faster Outland and if denied, you can appeal. Inland you cannot appeal and it takes much longer.

The INLAND guide actually states specifically you should apply outland instead for quicker processing:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5289ETOC.asp
The family class is aimed at faster processing of spouse or common‑law partner applications from applicants outside Canada.
Processing times for spouses or common‑law partners in Canada are generally longer.
The person being sponsored can apply to a visa office outside Canada to take advantage of the family class processing standard. Processing times for applications processed in Canada are posted online.

Completely ignore the times posted on CIC site for outland processing. They are beyond useless and don't indicate even remotely the time you will see.

Check the thread on this forum dedicated to your visa office, to see people's actual times.
