Processing Time - Visit Visa (UAE)

Hi,

I have applied for visit visa for son (me being legal guardian) on December 08th 2018 online from UAE.
I believe my son (who is a minor - 6 years old) will required to have the biometric as I have also not received the request for his biometric.

it has been beyond the normal processing time for visit visa from UAE, i am still waiting for the reply.

1. Anybody applied for visit visa from UAE recently, how long they took to reply?
2. Processing time is calendar days or working days?

From 10-12-2018 Canada government switched to calender days instead of working days

In this case, it is more than 28 days as per the processing time, I am still waiting for their update. The status didn't say even, we started review your eligibility in all these days. anyhow I have send the email today for the update, hope they respond earlier

can anyone help it is more than 2 months and still i have not recieved the reply.
Is it normal for such a long delay?

I have contacted them a month ago and standard reply recieved that it is under process and waiting for officer to review. I have send the second email a week back once it completed 2 months but still didn't recieve any reply.

a bit worried why they are taking such a long time.

Hi all,

it has been 4 months since i applied for the visit visa of my son, have send my inquiries, received reply for only one stating backlog issues and longer processing time. I was supposed to travel on 28th March to US & Canada but cancelled my trip due to non-availability of my son's visa.

What will be the impact on the application as my travel date has passed and mistake is on the embassy side of not replying in time (applying 4 months in advance is a lot of time to process), will they simply reject the case as the travel time is over, if so, should i send the case specific enquiry and ask them to cancel the application.

Or let the application complete and it will not have the impact of travel time?

please advice as i am a bit concerned now.
