Hello friends, I'm sure this kind of question has been asked 1000 times before, but I'm so very sleepy so I'm hoping someone will give me a nice answer or point me to previous answers. I want to immigrate to Quebec from the US.

I just got this email from immi: "This refers to your application for Permanent Residence in Canada. Your file has been transferred to the Case Processing Pilot in Ottawa for further review. It will be reviewed by one of our officers, with priority given to applications that were received at CIC before September 1st, 2011."

And my status online was recently updated to this: "We received your application for permanent residence on May 8, 2012.
We started processing your application on March 15, 2013.
Medical results have been received."

The website estimates a 12 month processing time for US applications. Does that probably mean 12 months from March 15, 2013? They also asked me to pay the $490 Right of Permanent Residence fee. Sounds like I'm in, right?

Friendly advice, please. Thank you.

It does sound like you're in, because they usually don't ask you to do the medical exam until they've checked that you are eligible to be a permanent resident. Plus, it looks like you passed medicals because the doctor would have contacted you if there were any concerns with the test results.
Your file is likely waiting on the criminal/background check.
My advice? Relax, and check your email regularly.
Good luck!

Wooooweeeeee! Thank you for the encouraging reply! I wish I knew, though, if it will be another 12 months from March 15, 2013. Waiting is harrrrd.

Processing time includes the time prior to processing, so you shouldn't have much longer to wait!

You are almost there ................... hang in as it can be just some more days or weeks before you have a visa in hand !

Hello everybody
I am just new this site, I have few questions. will be happy if anyone can give some explanition.
I sent my application fro PR Nov 2012 and bit confused about the processing time of PR. The CIC says 12 months first step and 10 months the second step. so it means it gets 22 months for PR to be approved.also my wife is included in the application who is not in Canada.so how long it will take her to get here? thanks

It depends on the category you applied. However if that is what it states on the site, then that is approximately the time

Hi, I am sponsoring my husband from Kosovo. We applied in November 2012 - we hired a lawyer to do everything. The papers are now in Vienna. How much longer do you think it will take? I have not received a call for an interview or anything yet.
