Since the CIC are incredibly vague on processing times, I'm just wondering if anyone out there knows, or had experience of, the processing time of an Inland CEC application?

It seems that the MyCIC updates aren't always an indication of how your application is progressing and since ECAS is not working for Express Entry, I'm hoping the lovely people on the forum might have a better insight.

In some cases I have seen that this has been done quicker as the requirements are less stringent and Canadian employers are easier to contact and verify.

Thanks JoacRy! I'm not the most patient person and hate being unable to find anything out ::)

CEC is probably the fastest of all the categories. My friend and I applied at an interval on 10 odd days. He under CEC and I under FSW .. he got his PR in 2.5 months, my file hasn't budged after 2nd December according to my notes ... you will be fine :)

This is the timeline of one of my friend - inland CEC

07-Aug :ITA
12-Sep :Submission
12-Sep :AOR
29-Sep :Med Passed
29-Sep :Bg in Process
14-Oct :RCMP Req for Spouse
26-Oct :RCMP submitted
13-Nov :PPR

There is a thread already on this concern: look for CEC share your timeline.

Just see my timeline below

Thanks everyone! Was expecting for it to take around 3-4 months so fx it does. 2.5 mths would just be amazing though!

I have heard CEC is faster , however I feel it depends on case to case. Many FSW inland applicants could have been CEC if their funds would have been less than 11K.. so why do they have to wait more.
I do not think CEC is that fast cz we also have overseas experience and canadian exp, so verification/ background check should take almost the same time ( depending on the company obvsly)

Well it work for me if CEC is faster as Im CEC applicant too - And frankly I nvr knew that funds make a difference!!. I did not show more than 10k as I had some upcoming expenses.
Else I would have fallen into FSW-Inland applicant too

Did you have to prove you had funds? I called CIC about this as we are already settled in Canada and have been for over 3 years - we moved through an intra-company transfer for my husband and have a positive LMIA with the same employer. We were told by CIC that we didn't have to prove funds.

not exactly.. I am saying if I would have declared funds more than 12k for 1 candidate - i would have been invited under FSW too
