I just thought of one more question. I am applying to sponsor my husband to come to canada as a permanent resident. We've been together for almost five years and have been married for one and live in France. We have a son in common. We will apply through the Paris office and the processing time listed says 10 months. How accurate is that? Is there a possibility it could go through faster?

Thank you!

the times posted on the CIC website for outland applications is not an average, and does not represent what applicants actually face. the times posted represent 80% of applications being processed WITHIN that time, so a majority are actually processed quicker. Paris is actually one of the quickest visa officers if I remember correctly. To know for sure how long it's taking at Paris, find the thread specific to that visa office. i'm pretty sure it's like 3-6 months for Paris.

edit: the paris thread just popped up at the top of the list, and it seems february 2016 applicants are getting approved now.
