My sister and brother in law from Venezuela are being sponsored by their daughter (a Canadian citizen). Application received January 2015. In processing August 2016. They have had their medical and it has been received. I have looked at different sites and get anywhere from 50 days to 6 years! for processing. We would like for her to wait for the final interview outside of Venezuela (deteriorating conditions!) She has a valid Visa for Canada and the United States. We hope for them to wait outside of Venezuela but don't have any idea how long they would have to wait for the final interview. Will it be within the year...two years....? Any help on this time line would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Sadly, there's no way to know. The best you can do at this point is order notes. However, they might not even need an interview. Worst case scenario they could travel back just for the interview, many people do this.

Hello, your family is fr Venezuela? My wife is from Venezuela currently living in Margaritas Island and I live I'm Canada. Really the process takes 50 days to 6 years to start or complete? Because of now CIC updated their immigration process and the time now is reduced to half. Used to be like 16 months for Venezuela I think and now should be reduced. Why would some cases take that long? Is it cause the country and its difficulty to get around the country now? Cause so dangerous? Hope you can help out. Like to,know more of the medical exam also. As the only doctors recognised by Canada are in Caracas and Maracibao (can't spell lol). Like to know how it went and how many times you had to go see the doctor. Is it one day thing or two days or more. Thanks. Hope someone else can answer also.
