Process to obtain a Canadian Tourist Visa as I am being invited by my boyfriend

Hi!
I am a H1B visa holder in USA.

My boyfriend wants me to come to Canada on a tourist Visa. Since we have been dating for a couple of years, I can he is eligible to invite me as an Extended Family Member.

So, I was wondering what is the process for that?
I meant to ask, will it be a regular visitor visa application or do we have to do something different because of COVID?

Specific answers I am looking for?

1) Are the applications being processed for people in the US?
2) What is the processing time? (Not looking for the exact time, but a rough approximation).

If he is not from a visa exempt country he’d need to apply for a TRV. When you say you have been dating for a few years have you lived in the same location? Lived together? Vacationned together? You will need proof of your extended duration relationship. Being in a relationship can mean very different things.

I think I didn't explain the question properly. My bad.

He is a Permanent Resident of Canada. I am the one needing to go to Canada on TRV.

Yes, we met together several times and we vacationed together as well.
