Process of boyfriend gaining citizenship to Canada?

Hello all,
I fell in love with someone i deeply care about from the Phillipines and cannot afford to go and see him frequently.
What process may I take to bring him to Canada?
We were hoping yo get married soon as well but I really do not know where to begin.
Please help!

He cannot get citizenship directly. You must sponsor him for permanent residency first. Details here:

Before you can sponsor him, you will have to either get married or live together for a full year to become common law.
