procedures for canadian study visa

Hi guys,
I really need ur help ooo!
I want to apply for a study visa in canada and so far so good, what I have read is that I have to get a school over there that would grant me admission,after which I get the school and submitted my necessary documents, transcripts etc, once a am being given a go ahead by d dept of d sch dt granted me admission, I can, by then be granted a study visa!which wud be processed within 28 days as I read.I want to know if I follow this path, am I on the right track? And also in which month of the year do most schools admit?I read mostly september dt admission takes place, how far is all this true, pls bail me out. Thanks Pals.
