Hey Everyone,

Me and my wife decided it would be best to wait till she comes to Canada to change. I'm not sure if the process to change the last name is exactly the same for local. Which is going to the registry and filling out a form requesting a name change. If anyone who has gone through this procedure and can share with their experience and exactly what I need to do. That would be fantastic.

Thank you so much

Philippine passport I will assume. Have her take your marriage certificate to your local Philippine Consulate and simply renew her passport with her new name. Then she will have new ID in time to get her health card with the new name (depending on your province), and then at some point Driver's license. You are not in Quebec are you?

Thanks Truesmile. Nope not in Quebec, Edmonton Alberta. We got to start the process in the Philippines? We wanted to avoid doing anything in the Philippines due to the sake of time. Currently her passport is being ship to the MVO.

The Consulate General of the Philippines, Vancouver participates in an "outreach" program. They will be in Edmonton on October 6-9, 2015. It seems to me they visit each city twice a year.

Thank you Truesmile for the link
