Exactly 60 days since i response for PFL letter. They said my recommendation letter from university is fake but I'm 100% guaranteed that is genuine, even there is email and phone number in the paper, i don't even know why they ain't contact my university, I don't know why they take 2 months to verify 1 paper, it take only 1 minutes call, guys when can i expect a decision? I'm January intake btw

Is this a Canadian university? Or university you attended in the past? If in the past, what is a recommendation letter. IRCC would only accept a ECA from WES or CES, for example.

That was the university i attended past and I don't know even why i send them, that's kind of optional paper i just add it to support my document but they told me that's fake

Do you know when they respond?

There's no fixed processing time for PFLs. It's unfortunately impossible for any of us to guess.

Get in touch with the professor who issued you the letter. It is very very common for IRCC to reach out to people who recommend you. Be it your boss at work or prior faculty. In this case, they might have mailed/called your prof and they might not have responded.

Additionally was the letter of recommendation printed on your university letterhead? Did it contain a seal? Was it signed by the faculty? All of these must be checked. This is not an “either, or” situation.

Just as an insight. I attached a letter of recommendation as well. I first had to seek permission for such a letter from the faculty. Since they can easily deny you one. Then they wrote me one. I had to approach the registrar in my school to get it printed on the letterhead with all formalities attached. Before submitting my file to IRCC, I physically met with the professor who wrote me the letter and conveyed my status. They were cooperative enough to keep a check for any questions raised on this recommendation.

One more thing! It is your duty to check that the faculty is an active teacher at your university. Visiting/inactive faculties are not allowed to issue you a recommendation.
