Hello, I submitted my application for a study permit on December 9, 2024 and on December 19, 2024 I was sent a procedural fairness letter that my bank statements are considered fraudulent yet my statements are true. I then asked the bank to make me a certificate of authenticity and a letter addressed to IRCC to confirm that the bank statements are true. The bank gave me these documents that I submitted attached to my supporting letter and I sent. But I would like to know:

1. are these documents sufficient to show authenticity?

2. will I even have a ban on territory or a refusal?

3. are there people in the same case who were able to have their study permit after justifying? What are the documents to justify?

4. does IRCC really contact the banks? If so, who do they contact? Because I don't understand how my statements can be considered fraudulent!

1. are these documents sufficient to show authenticity? - If you cleared their specific doubt and responded to it accordingly, it should be fine.

2. will I even have a ban on territory or a refusal? - Depends on how you responded to the PFL and provided the necessary documents. It's always encouraged to respond to the PFL by an immigration lawyer as there's a format that one should use while responding to a PFL. Did you use a lawyer? IRCC takes PFLs very seriously and there have been many cases where the applications got denied even being responded by a seasoned immigration consultant. So, lawyer is the key word!

3. are there people in the same case who were able to have their study permit after justifying? What are the documents to justify? - Varies from case to case. Again, you should lawyer up! If you didn't respond through a lawyer and already submitted your response, then, all you can do is to wait until they make a decision!

4. does IRCC really contact the banks? If so, who do they contact? Because I don't understand how my statements can be considered fraudulent! - Yes they do contact. As to whom they contact, it depends on who IRCC wats to reach out to. They might even decide to reach out to a bank personnel found through open source instead of the contact that's given on the bank statement/letter.

Yes, my statements are authentic

I didn't call on a lawyer I justified myself

I was thinking of asking my bank to contact IRCC by email to confirm the authenticity of the statements, is this possible?

Yes, my statements are authentic - Is your bank black listed or known to be suspicious by any chance? Many South Asian banks have been black listed by IRCC from time to time. You could Google and research from you own end to see if your bank was involved in any sort of suspicious activity.

I didn't call on a lawyer I justified myself - While you should have lawyered up for the PFL, however, if you feel that you have addressed all those concerns accordingly, then it should be fine!

I was thinking of asking my bank to contact IRCC by email to confirm the authenticity of the statements, is this possible? - Banks cannot reach out to IRCC on your behalf. They can certainly give you the revised documents which you already got.

Also African banks are known to IRCC for being fraudulent.
