Hi, I was given a temporary number by CIC over the phone. I requested a temporary UCI number so I can view ECAS and also want to order GCMS.

The number given to me is

T followed by 11 numbers.

This number doesn't match the criteria for anything. Anyone know what this number allows me to do if I can't view ecas?

Why don't you use the file number(starts with F) and the sponsored spouse's info? UCI number is 8 digits, no letters.

You can also use your fee receipt number(I think it starts with R) to check ecas.

Thank you. It says We were not able to identify you using the information you provided.

This is what I have tried with: my receipt number : starts with letter C followed by 9 numbers., number from clerk on phone : T followed by 11 numbers, and file number (from email from cic asking for a form to be resubmitted; starts with XF followed by 9 numbers. I have tried all three with no luck.

I realize that my application still may not be in process, so I guess ecas would have nothing there?

Has Anyone else viewed ecas before receiving AOR email?

Also, the additional form I mailed in was to a different address :
Application Intake - FCP
CPC Mississauga / CTD Mississauga
PO BOX 6100, Station A / CP 6100, Station A
Mississauga, ON L5A 4H4

My original application was received March 20. I have no AOR. It is no help to me calling CIC as I have already had bad experiences with them over the phone.

Has anyone sent additional docs to the intake address? This is a different address than application address. I would assume that it is different so that the additional doc doesn't become buried with all the new applications being sent in. But I have no response at all even though it was signed by bud jamel May 8.
Any feedback from persons in similar situation as myself would be appreciated, how long did you wait after sending a new form???

When my husband received a temp UCI number, it ended up being his actualy UCI number. Prior to receiving SA, I was unable to check ecas using receipt numbers and the file number from the missing doc request. I would receive the same message as you are.

The address on the miss doc request WAS different than the submission address. It took 2 weeks to deliver.

what is the date listed on your missing doc request? Perhaps they are using that time as a bring forward date for your application?

Date on letter was April 30. Even though it was in my inbox on April 29th. So bring forward date meaing when they work on applications received April 30 is when I might receive AOR?

I don't mean they will wait to process it until applications for the date they wrote the letter. What I mean is, in the body of the letter they would have given you a timeline to return the information (as in, you have until xxx to return this information, or if we don't receive this within 30, 60, 90 days, it will be returned). Potentially, they can wait until THAT date until they pick up the package again. Or they may just add it to the applications from that date. It's a crap shoot really, because that't not what happened with my missing doc. However, AOR date is dated as received on April 14th, not the original date in march it was delivered, and they haven't even started processing those applications yet. Perhaps its dependant on the officer that we get?

It can also take 3-4 weeks for something to be attached to an original application - this is what my husband was told by CIC.

I don't think you can see anything on ecas before receiving the AOR(acknowledgment of receipt).

Thanks so much for your replies everyone. rhcohen, I hope you are right. It states:

All requested documents/information and a copy of this letter must be resubmitted within 45 days of the date of this letter in order to be processed.

Hopefully they will look for it soon and input it into the system. Coming close to the 45 days. And also has been almost 4 weeks since sending it in. The not knowing is so difficult, but it is nice to know I can ask for help here. Thanks again.

Haha Good question. I called CIC before I left with my parents help. I am hard of hearing. I am sure they have a little note on their file that my father is also given authority to ask questions. Since I have been here, my parents are the ones calling, while I am on skype. As long as I answer a few questions that CIC asks (for verification) via skype (with my parents phone next to computer), they let me and my father ask questions.

If I don't hear the question, my father lip reads it out and I answer. :P

I have also seen posters on here attempt do three way calls. Not sure if it works all the time though.

But I should also mention that, really, I have obtained no concrete answers and each person has a different reply. It is REALLY frustrating dealing with them via phone.

yes, the not knowing for SA is the toughest part for sure! The questions isn't when the document was sent, the question is when whas it DELIVERED. Canada's mail system is SLOOOOOW so they may have had it less time than you think. :)

When CIC asked for police clearance in email, did they specify when they needed it by?

I've heard they normally give 30 days to send in, mine was 45 days though. Now it is the 38th day for me and they still don't have it in system yet.

Have you tried sending an email? It hasn't worked in my situation, but it is worth a try. Use the file number on top of the email they sent you as a reference number.

Btw, mine was signed by the same guy who signed our application being received. Even though they were sent to different addresses. All I know at this point it was signed on May 8 (according to Canada Post tracking).

At this point my additional form could be anywhere in those offices, whether it's at a bottom of a pile, sitting on a slow/absent officer's desk, misplaced or lost forever. :o

CIC asked my police in mid of March, HK police sent out to CIC direcly on Apr 3, as CIC count my application as missing doc (since HK police would need cic letter in order to provide police cert, so all HK applicant couldn't provide police cert with the application and I heard most HK applicant would get CIC request for police cert at final stage).
Due to CIC count my case as missing docs, I guess it means I have to line up again for CIC start process... hope I could receive CIC reply this month . . sigh
