After application is done I click validate and it keep saying "to date cannot be less than from date" and shows red boxes on employment section. what is this? Please do some one help me out solve this problem.

Form shows year and month so I filled up as follow:

You will need to show us a screenshot of the error. Like this there seems to be no problem.

Don't leave it empty, put the current month and year.

Empty is the most preferred way of leaving it.

If there is going to be a value there, ti should be the same date it is being submitted, as it would imply "up to this date". If a mismatch happens it can be read as "until these date", which would imply some sort of contract.

Yes, that's what I had meant, just that the current application form only allows employment entries of year and month, there is no day to enter where it can match the date of submission. I believe I recall a few members couldn't validate the form when they had left an employment date empty.

I would think the officer will exercise some judgment to think that the current month and year of submission implies the present. They're not automatons who'll take things literally.

Totally. But we shouldn't rely on the judgement of the CIC officer handling the application. Whenever we can avoid it, it is preferred to do so.

Strange that blank wouldn't validate it, that is the preferred way of doing it (and the form is the same to all of us, so it cannot validate for some and not for others).
