Hello, I have dilemma regarding our case, my husband got a job offer in Canada under the NOC Skill level B and we are now waiting for his LMO to be released from the hrsdc and soon as the employer receives it, he (husband) has then to submit it at Manila Based - Canadian Embassy to complete his employment work permit.

here's the thing, we're once informed that it is possible for me to tag along with him under an open-work permit however, currently I am not working after we got married and that was already like 2 yrs ago so I have been unemployed within that span of time.

My question now is, does this affect our application? OR Does the Canada Immigration will not permit me to be with him because of this circumstances? And, Can we submit our papers together while he is also just processing his work permit visa? Hoping someone can share their thoughts on this.

Thank you.

Re: Principal Applicant Skilled, Spouse unemployed, Please help!

No. You dont need to be employed or have any work experiences when you apply for an open work permit.
I am also a skilled worker here in canada under NOC B and my wife don't have work for the past 4 years since we got married.
She applied an open work permit and our son's TRV last December 2012. Still waiting for their Visas.

So happy! Thanks for the quick reply @ Netblizz183.
got it! unemployed spouse myself has nothing to worry about. whew! copy that! ;)
one more question though, my husband and I were advised by this certain agency to submit our papers together since my husband is just in a start of processing his papers but, before finalizing everything, I also wanted to make sure if the suggestion given by the agency is even valid! like, can we apply our visas at once or does he need to be there in Canada first before I get to apply mine (SOWP) and/or we can literally submit our applications together?
