Hi everyone,

I'm just a bit confused about 'previously withdrawing a visa application' and 'previously been refused a visa application'.

I was stuck in Australia when Covid happened for about 6 months. At that time, my substantial visa expired so I had to apply for another visitor visa to remain there legally. I then left Australia on a repatriation flight while my visitor visa was still *in-process*. Because I had already left the country, Australia sent to me an email suggesting that I should withdraw my visa application and if I don't, they will refuse it. I withdrew my application before Australia made the final decision.

The question is, when I fill out the Canada PR form, the part of declaring "Have I ever been refused a visa application from other countries or territories" should I tick 'yes' or 'no'? I think I should tick 'no' as my case was a withdrawal before any final decision was made; but again, I'm not so sure. I'm trying to understand better so not to misrepresent information.

Would really appreciate if anyone could give me some thoughts on this.

Many thanks,
