One of my friends is preparing support documents to sponsor common law partner. They are looking for advice. All utility bills are under the landlord name except their cell phones. Both have prepaid / topup cell phone plans. There is no monthly bills nor contracts showing their address. Can they still show same address based on their cell phones?

They do have the rental contract/agreement with both of their names. Right?
How about bank accounts with their names and address?
Prepaid cell phones aren't really good proof IMO. Anyone can get one without providing much of their personal information.

I completely agree with you.

The rental contract/agreement isn't both of their names but they can ask the landlord to sign a new rental agreement and get receipts of all payments since they lived together.

They don't have a joint bank account, but a credit card account with the other partner as an authorized user (not joint). just an extra credit card of the same account with the other partner name on it. It was issued last month or so. This credit card account is active in Canada, can't change the address on the account to an address outside Canada. So two credit cards to the same credit card account in Canada is all what they have so far.

The concern is they did not plan to prepare documents since they started living together. They are just looking into the required documents nowadays.

What documents that can prepare now to show they lived together for one year at the same address?
