Hello everyone! Just want to ask if being pregnant while the sponsorship application is being processed would cause delay later?? what could be the consequences? My husband has submitted already my application this June 2012 just waiting for some news from CPC-M. We are actually planning to have a baby but we are just a bit worried that it could create problems later. Your response is greatly appreciated:)

I don't believe it would have any implications whatsoever. If anything it would serve as even more proof the relationship is genuine. We are in the same situation as you are, and we aren't holding back. Are you applying 'inland' or if 'outland' which country?

If the baby is a Canadian citizen from birth, then there shouldn't be any problems, but you may need to get proof of citizenship and perhaps a passport for your baby after the birth. If the baby isn't a citizen (for example if your husband is only a permanent resident, or if he's Canadian because he was born abroad to Canadian parents), then it seems likely that some additional steps would need to be taken with the visa office.

If you are required to redo your medical then it could delay your application. Anna and I are delayed as a result of her becoming pregnant before we redid the medical. We chose to allow the delay rather than risk an X-ray while pregnant.

Is an x-ray always required for the medical? I didnt think that x-rays were done.

Hello everyone! :) Thank you for your reply and advices. Just to give you the whole picture, Im actually from Philippines and my husband is canadian. He is going to come here in Philippines this September for his vacation. We are actually planning to have a baby but we are a bit worried that it could affect the application. He sent my application just this June 4 and CPC-M received it on June 7. I am already done with my medical last February 2012. We are still waiting for some news from them.

You may not hear any news now until September. Another poster put up the stats by country for last year. Of applications processed via Manila, 80% were completed in 9 months (50% in four months). Combined with medicals done, I'd say enjoy both your vacations and try.

Hello mystique1980,

Is two different case, your application and your new born...Your baby is automatic as a Canadian citizen as you stated your husband is a Canadian. what you need to do is apply the proof of citizenship for the new born...I am in the same situation as you...You just need to be relax and have a healthy baby...Good luck. :)

You are right Bold9900. :)
