I'm bit worried though they gave me pregnancy deferral letter and told me to upload it under medical requirement. Does that mean my application will be delayed until such time I gave birth? Actually, My husband is the principal applicant and I'm the spouse. Some says it will depend on my husband's papers because he is the principal applicant and not mine and I'm not so sure but I'm still worried that it might affect our overall application. I'm due by August and that's 3 more months Away. Does anyone knows how will be the process? Thanks in advance.

Until you all fully complete the medical examination, all your applications will be delayed.

Hi zardoz.. Thanks for the reply.so does that means it will also affect my husband's application since I'm his spouse? We already submitted our requirements because there is a 60day period which we have to comply. Thanks.

60-day period is not a concern to you anymore once you upload all your required documents, including deferral form. You will have complied with that requirement any way. It is just that they will hold your husband's application until you give birth and are fit for an X-ray. Once CIC receives your complete medical report, including X-ray, then they will resume processing your husband's application. So everything is fine, it is just delayed. Plus, please use the search function on the upper right and search for pregnant or pregnancy, you will find quite a few topics on this.

I don't know about that, but my wife is pregnant too, and we certainly wouldn't risk it.

did you got an ITA? and submitted your documents with medical deferred coz of pregnancy? whats the status of your application?

As per Mayo clinic they say it's safe to do an X-Ray for pregnant women with today's technology:
http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/pregnancy-week-by-week/expert-answers/x-ray-during-pregnancy/faq-20058264

A pregnant women should also ask for a lead protection during X-Rays in case she decided to go forward with it.

I'm not saying you should or you shouldn't do the X-Ray, this is to be decided by the parents.

really amazed with todays latest technologies XRay is that unsafe and there isnt any technology that can work as a replacement for XRay....

Did anyone do the x-Ray while pregnant? or just deferred??

If we defer it, will they hold the entire application including Background checks etc..
Or they do everything else except medicals ??

I am hoping they do everything else and not wait until xray..
Everything else meaning.. Background checks.. employer checks etc...

If anybody has any insight..pls share..

When did you recieved ita and when did you submitted your docs? Whats your status

Dont worry about being pregnant, it wont affect you.

My wife is also pregnant and when we went for the medical the radiologist and Doctor to us to wait until after the 1st trimester to do the x-ray. So we did all the other tests and waited but uploaded the medical sheet and in the letter of explanation I explained everything and told then when the x-ray would be done.

It took over a month to do the x-ray and our application stood still for the whole time and 5 days after doing the x-ray our medical changed from in progress to Pass.
