I had applied for a PR under the RNIP .My wife and the kids I had put them as not accompanying me to Canada reason being they will follow after I had settled but now I had received email requesting them to do medicals with their UCI and application numbers given. I had only paid my application fees for me as the main applicant. I had done an upfront medical myself .I don't understand how the process works and I didn't receive an email requesting the medicals .Last week I received an email instruct me to pay for biometrics which I did. I only paid for me the main applicant.

Even if non accompanying you must pay for and they must undergo medicals. Your application will not be processed until they do.
you and all of your dependents (spouse and kids) need to go through medical, police, security and background check and passed before your applilcation will be approved for PR. Even if they are not accompanying now, since they are your immediate family, they need to go through all the checks.
Once you become a PR, you can sponsor them. And at that point, they will not be denied on any medical condition.
Please explain further so I have paid for the biometrics for only myself $85 so do I need to do a top up of another $85 since the family biometrics is costing $170 .On the medicals I had received instructions for the family to do .Biometrics they had only instructed me to pay and they will advise when could I go and do. Please advise
