Spouse PR, kid and me Citizenship, and by the time spouse PR (has stayed in Canada for over 3 years), she still has to wait few years to apply for citizenship?

Spouse PR, kid and me Citizenship, and by the time spouse PR (has stayed in Canada for over 3 years), she still has to wait few years to apply for citizenship?

Citizenship requires 4 years of physical residency (out of past 6) in Canada as a PR. Time spent in Canada before becoming PR is irrelevant.

There is a motion to amend rules back to old was so less time and allowing some time from before PR status, but who knows if/when or in what form this will eventually be made law.
