Hi guys,
I really need help.
I am very confuse now as searching some news on the forum.
I just got the CSQ from the Quebec Authority. Before getting this CSQ I got the confirmation email from the High Commission of Canada (Visa Section in Singapore) in December 24, 2012 & it's said:
1- We received your application for permanent residence on December 24, 2012.
2- Medical results have been received.
My Questions are:
- Do I need to make a new police certificate & health certificate? Cause they all are valid within 6 months.
- How long does it take to the PR granting process when I submitted my Application to the federal government in June 2012.
- The High Commission of Canada (Singapore office) already sent me back all the proofs of our relation (me & my wife) & they ask me to wait for an interview do I still need to attend an interview after getting the CSQ?
P.S. Base on the timeline on the CIC website, it will take 12 to 24 months to complete the process?

Are you applying through family sponsorship, or are you a skilled worker? that will help to give you an answer.

I'm confused as to what are your date. On your post, you said you applied in June, but ecas says you applied in December 2012?

Ok - let's assume that you sent your application in June 2012, got sponsor approval and your file was sent to Singapore, and they confirmed to have received your application in December 2012.

1 - don't get a police certificate or a medical exam until you're asked for one. Singapore will contact you if they need anything, and for lots of cases you actually need the letter from CIC to get a new medical or police certificate. As you don't know when your case will be done, there is no point of getting things done now - wait until they ask.

2 - Singapore is listed as 26 months, unfortunately, you might have to wait. It also looks like they have told you that you are in the "interview queue", so they won't take a decision until you get the interview. Keep on collecting proofs of relationship, keep records of skype/phone/visits to your wife, and bring that to the interview once you have the date.

3 - the CSQ has nothing to do with the process. It's an added step because you're headed to Quebec - but the decision for the PR is with the federal government. If you have the CSQ, you can send a copy of it to Singapore, so they will add it to your file, but it doesn't mean that you're approved for PR - it means that IF you're approved for PR, Quebec will let you settle in the province.

In conclusion: wait until you hear from Singapore, it's still "early" in the process considering the waiting time in Singapore is 26 months.
Good luck,
Sweden

Thanks Sweden,
It is very clear now. I got understand my case.
Now need to wait.
My legal consultant submit my application before getting the CSQ that the reason why I just got it now.
I really don't know why they need too much time to close an application.
