Please help me out the situation is follows.

1)My self, wife and my son had our PR card in 2009 and it expires on July 2014.But we left Canada in 2009 after spending two months to attend serious issues at our home country. Will we be allowed now to enter Canada. At the same time once they allow, do we have to stay continuously for 730 days is it ?.Are can We take short trips to home country or any where outside Canada.

2)My son got admitted in a Canadian university and left last month. He told me he had some problem in the immigration since the left over days available in his PR card expires(July 2014) not meeting the residency obligations.Later he told immigration officer that he will be in Canada for his higher education. Then the immigration officer allowed him.

My question is he wants to go to USA for his study tour as his university is taking him, will he have any problems due to shortage of days as his card expires in July 2014.
