PR status query

I am working in canada, my work permit runs out December 31st.
I have applied for PR under the skilled workers program.
I have been asked to get my medical done, and this has now been sent off.

Is the medical the final stage, and is it still possible to get my PR if work permit runs out
before it comes through?

Any idea how long the PR takes to come through after medical exam?

Hi Annet,

I don't know how long it's going to take in Canada, I had submitted my medicals in July in London. Passport requested in August (After 2 Weeks).

You can never take anything for granted till you actually get some answer from CIC. My medical was done 5 months ago, still no response from them though applied under new rules.
