Hi,

I'm in US and mailed my PR Renewal application from inside Canada. I live with my spouse who is Canadian Citizen. We have not lived in Canada in almost last 5 years but have always been living together with our children who are also Canadian Citizens. My application does not have any entry/exit between US/Canada as we never lived in Canada.

I noticed today that my application was sent to the local CIC office.

My question is, should I be concerned about this transfer, or is it a normal\regular procedure.

We received your application for a permanent resident card on January 2, 2014.

We started processing your application on January 14, 2014.

We transferred your application to the local CIC office on January 17, 2014. The local CIC office may contact you.

Thanks for all of you inputs.....

Living with your Canadian spouse obviously fulfils the residency obligation requirements but it does seem that they are taking a deeper look at your application. Just how did you submit the application inside Canada if you haven't entered the country? Maybe this is why...

Just out of curiousity, did your husband sponsor you for PR, and if so, did he fulfil the declared intention of returning to reside in Canada once you became a PR? (Just trying to think of things that might warrant further investigation by CIC.)

Thank You for the quick response.

Yes my spouse sponsored me for my PR, I have already once renewed my PR card and now its expiring again soon.

My app was mailed out to a relative and then mailed to CIC from within inside Canada. Multiple other forums suggest to use this method if you are outside Canada.

My spouse files yearly Taxes and own real estate in Canada therefore I dont think any request\form was filled out with an intention to return back to Canada as we are quite regular visitors every year at least twice a year but not longer than a week.

Is that an issue?
Should we be concerned about any possible issues?
Since we did not stay in Canada for longer than a week therefore we did not mention any stay in Canada in the application.

Thanks again for all the inputs....
