Hi everyone,

So I have a quick question. I am the principal applicant and I just got PR with my husband and my daughter.
I am aware one has to stay in Canada for at least 2 years out of 5 (3 out of 6 for citizenship) to maintain PR status.
My question is if only one of us, say my husband is in Canada for the period of these 2 years, will he also be able to renew the PR for me and my daughter or does each one of us has to spend 2 years individually to be able to maintain our status? Or once a member of the family is in status, all the other members of the family are in status?

Thank you

Each of you has to meet the residency requirement on your own to keep your PR status. Whether you meet the PR residency requirement and can keep your PR status is evaluated individually - not as a family.

Citizenship is actually 4 out of 6 years.
