Korean who's getting sponsored PR by Canadian common-law partner.

I guess I'm on a implied status right now for below. I haven't gotten my OWP approved yet.

Here's the detail.

Sep 5th - Applied PR+OWP

Sep 10th - Study visa expired

Nov 13th - Applied for a new study visa outland while I'm still in Canada.

Dec 2th - I'm going to visit the U.S to give biometrics and will come back to Canada on the same day.

I'm going to acquire a visitor visa on Dec 2th when I come back. I don't have to apply online for a visitor visa since I come from a visa exempt country.

Will a immigration officer at the border give me a visitor visa even though I applied for a study visa and I'm waiting for it?

How will this work?

If you are admitted to the country from the US, you will receive a visitor status.

If I were you, I'd bring paperwork proving the study visa application and PR application, including fees paid. You have a small degree of risk of being denied entry as you are not a genuine visitor. You may get secondary screening and lots of questions.
